RIP John Hughes

Writer/director John Hughes has died at 59 years old.
In the 1980s, his films were extremely popular, and he was seen as a voice of that generation of teenagers. ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’, ‘Uncle Buck’, and ‘Breakfast Club’ are particular favorites of mine, although some films he wrote were simply awful. (’Home Alone 3′, ‘Drillbit Taylor’) His other works include ‘Sixteen Candles’, ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’, and the scripts for ‘Home Alone’ and the Chevy Chase comedy ‘Vacation’. Hughes had not directed a film since 1991. He had a heart attack in New York City.
